Kota Kinabalu: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin tonight heavily hinted that the upcoming 15th General Election will be held this year.

The Sabah Umno Liaison chief said it is likely to be conducted after the Federal Government's Memorandum of Understanding with opposition parties ends on July 31, this year.

“I have instructed all Sabah Umno leaders and divisional leaders to go down to the field to streamline and strengthen the preparations and election machinery in each division," said Bung after the breaking of fast with the media tonight.

“We are ready to face the imminent general election which will be held any time. Whether it is held after Hari Raya or after July this year...we need to be ready."
