Highest fire station to begin ops soon

Kota Kinabalu: The Gunting Lagadan building on Mount Kinabalu at 11,000  ft will soon be the fire station or operation centre for the Mountain Search and Rescue (Mosar) team, said Malaysia Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Director-General Datuk Mohammad Hamdan Wahid.

“They have agreed to turn over the Gunting Lagadan building to Mosar for use as a fire station,” he said.

According to Mohamad Hamdan, the financial allocation has been approved to repair and maintain the existing building.
