Kota Kinabalu: Electricity has been restored to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after a power outage affecting its twin buildings, a specialist clinic and an old block around 11.54 am on Tuesday.
Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) Chief Executive Officer Mohd Yaakob Jaafar said a check of the supply channelled by SESB to QEH revealed that the SESB cables were in good condition and had not been damaged.
"SESB's technical team has tested and verified that SESB's installation is in good working order…" he said in a statement on Wednesday.
Further investigation revealed that the supply outage in the hospital building was caused by damage to QEH's 11kV underground line.
According to Yaakob, two SESB portable generators have been deployed at the QEH to meet supply needs during power outages while work to detect cable damage is being done.
