Kota Kinabalu: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) Sabah formed 28 bureaus to serve about 300,000 of its members as well as make preparations for this year’s Parliamentary general election.
Star President Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey G Kitingan said the appointed bureau chairmen were not limited to members of the Supreme Council, but also professionals.
“The chairman will appoint members of the bureau committee to give roles to party members to contribute knowledge, experience and expertise,” he said.
Dr Jeffrey, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister, said this in conjunction with the Appointment Letter Presentation Ceremony and Iftar at Sokid Villa on Wednesday.
Among those appointed were Datuk Ellron Alfred Angin as Chairman of the Manifesto Bureau, Datuk Robert Tawik @ Nordin (Rural), Datuk Martin Idang (Constitution and Law), Datuk Annuar Ayub Aman (Oil and Gas), Ir Awang Saleh Hj Makmud (Integration and Unity) as well as Stephen Chong (Digital Economy).
Also receiving letters were two former Bingkor Assemblymen, Datuk Justin Guka (Agriculture) and Datuk Lawrence Gimbang (Keningau Parliamentary Star Coordinator).
According to Dr Jeffrey, the formation of bureaus is geared toward duties and responsibilities in government involving various ministries, departments and agencies.
Dr Jeffrey said the implementation of the bureau’s duties is based on terms and references to make the party’s struggle continue to be relevant with the passage of time and update with responsibility to the people.
