Keningau mishaps leave seven injured
Firefighters inspecting the victim’s vehicle that skidded into a ditch in front of Perkasa Hotel in Keningau.
KENINGAU: Four local men were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in skidded in two separate accidents, here, Friday.

In an accident in front of Hotel Perkasa, a 60-year-old man sustained minor injuries when a Toyota Rush skidded into a ditch.

Keningau Zone 4 Fire and Rescue Department Chief, Yuszaimi Hairrul Azwan Juatan, said the Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 2.58pm and 10 firefighters led by Operations Officer Raizaain Awang Damit @ Malik rushed to the scene.

“The victim was given initial treatment by the EMRS team and sent to Keningau hospital for further treatment. The operation ended at 3.13pm,” he said.

Meanwhile, Yuszaimi said three men were injured when the 4WD vehicle boarded by the victims skidded on the shoulder of the road and hit a tree in the Apin-Apin-Keningau road on Friday night.

He said the two victims, aged 53 and 21, suffered serious injuries while a 34-year-old victim suffered minor injuries.

“The District Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 9.10pm and 10 personnel led by the Operations Officer, Leong Hoi Min, rushed to the scene,” he said.

Also at the scene were two Health Ministry staff and a police officer.

The victims were sent to Keningau Hospital for further treatment. The operation ended at 9.55pm.
