Kota Kinabalu: The 2022 State-level “Jom Baca Bersama” programme helped inculcate the interest in reading among the community.
Sabah State Library Director Fatimah Abdillah said the involvement of government agencies, private sectors and students in the annual programme since 2014 was also seen to be increasing.
At the event, Fatimah accompanied Datuk Abdul Tani Lo, who was representing Science, Technology and Innovation Minister (KSTI) Datuk Yakub Khan to launch the Grivas Road to Chess Mastery Chess Book Vol A and B published by the Sabah State Library.
After a 10-minute simultaneous reading session, Abdul Tani shared “My Favourite Read” through ‘The Making of Sabah’ book.
At the same event, Penampang Tokoh Nilam Saleha Abdulgader, who is also SMK Limbanak Penampang student, shared the title of the book “The BFG By Roald Dahl”.
Also present were Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Permanent Secretary Zainudin Aman and Sabah Chess Association President Muammar Julkarnain.
