Man dies due to cardiac issues in crash

KOTA KINABALU: A 54-year-old man died in Kolombong, here, reportedly due to cardiac issues, Wednesday.
Lew Kok Fai, an Ipoh native who worked as a head baker at a pastry manufacturing company, is survived by his wife, two sons aged eight and five, and a three-year-old daughter.

A witness said, he first noticed the Lew’s Honda swerving to the side before slamming into a concrete fence near Taman Nelly in Kolombong.
"I was waiting for a family member at the roadside when the incident happened. When I arrived at the driver's side, I found him unconscious.
"I didn't move him because I was concerned it might aggravate his injury," he said.
At 12.03pm, he said, he contacted MERS999 from his mobile phone.

"I dialled 999 and explained what had happened. The person on the other end of the line asked for my phone number and said someone will call me back, but they never did," he claimed.
The QEH ambulance arrived at approximately 1.10pm, an hour after the MERS999 call.
