Climate change suspected in mountain mishaps

RANAU: Climate change has been attributed to several climbers on Mount Kinabalu suffering complications during their descent lately.

A 54-year-old became the latest victim on May 4 when he suddenly experienced difficulty breathing, most likely due to sudden drop of temperature.

Ranau Fire and Rescue Department Chief, PPgB Ridwan Bin Mohd Taib said the incident happened at about 2.15pm at km 5.3 of the Kinabalu main climbing trail.
