Missing woman, 74, found safe but weak
The woman found in a weak condition.
Tuaran: An elderly woman who was reported missing in the Kg Malangkap Kapa rubber plantation since May 4 was found in a weak condition in the village’s forest area on Saturday morning.

Gorin Galais, 74, was found by Fire and Rescue personnel at 10.30am.

Kota Belud District Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief Muhammad Syazwan Latun the woman was weak but not injured.

He said five firefighters and five auxiliary fire officers were dispatched to the scene, along with a machine and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle.

“The search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched on Friday with the assistance of 49 villagers, Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Civil Defence Force (APM) and the dog unit (K9).

“The SAR team found the victim 1.36km from the control post on the second day of the SAR,” he said.

According to Muhammad Syazwan, the victim was taken out of the forest area using a Robinson stretcher.

“Upon arrival at the control post, the victim was sent in an ambulance to Kota Belud Hospital for further medical examination.

“The operation ended at 1pm,” he said.
