However, no plea was taken from Stellee pending the chemist’s and medical reports.

On the first count, Stelle is accused of raping the frightened 21-year-old woman at 7am on April 12, this year, at the kitchen of a house in Kg Radu, Kota Marudu.

The offence, under Section 377CA of the Penal Code, provides for a jail term of between five and 20 years, and whipping, on conviction.

The court set June 14 for mention and ordered Stellee to be remanded further pending the date.

Earlier, Deputy Public Prosecutor Tham Pou Jin objected to giving bail to Stellee on the grounds that it was a serious offence.

Stellee, who was unrepresented, told the court that he has nothing to say.

To a question from the court, Stellee said he was unsure whether his family knew about his case.

The court asked the prosecution to inform the Investigation Officer of the case to inform Stellee’s family members.

During the proceedings, Stellee was informed by the court that he could engage a counsel if he wants.
