LABUAN: Products by Sabah’s small and medium-size industries (SMIs) are growing in popularity, not only among the locals but also in Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia.
Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam said the “Buy Sabah-Made Products” campaign launched earlier this year has received a positive response from the people.
“The campaign, which will run throughout the year, is aimed at promoting Sabah’s products nationwide,” he said to reporters after visiting the Pasarina Mini Mart in Patau-Patau, here, Friday.
He added that products by Sabah SMIs have the potential to further penetrate the Peninsular Malaysia market through aggressive promotion, quality packaging and the right platform.
Joachim, who is also Sabah’s Industrial Development Minister, said the ministry will be signing a memorandum of understanding with GM Klang Wholesale City to promote Sabah’s SMI products.
“We need to have a platform to enable Sabah’s products to go beyond the local market,” he said.
