Drug dealer nabbed in Tawau

TAWAU: Police arrested a suspected drug dealer and seized 152.06gm of suspected Syabu at a petrol kiosk, here, Friday.Tawau district police head ACP Jasmin Hussin said the 36-year-old foreigner was arrested by the Tawau IPD’s Narcotics Crime Investigation Division.

“The suspect, who was riding a motorcycle, was approached by police but he attempted to flee.
“Inspection found a black plastic in the basket of the suspect’s motorcycle,” he said.
“Further examination found that the package contained several crystal clear lumps suspected to be syabu weighing 152.06gm.
“The suspect’s urine test was also found to be positive for methamphetamine.

“The case was being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries a mandatory death sentence, if convicted,” he said.
