A new milestone: Firefly Airlines
Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) marked another significant milestone with the resumption of Firefly’s jet operations from its Penang Hub last April 11, 2022, with B737-800s from Penang (PEN) to Johor Bahru (JHB), Kota Kinabalu (BKI) and Kuching (KCH) offering comfort and convenience for passengers travelling to and from major cities in Malaysia.

Since its launch, about 32,000 passengers have flown from Penang to the respective destination with 70% booking capacity till this date. Firefly sees strong demand for regional connections since Penang International Airport was one of Malaysia’s fastest-growing airports prior to COVID, with passenger traffic rising 7.7 per cent per year in compound annual growth.

With the recent launch of the B737-800s, Firefly expects to add seven new aircraft in phases over the following two to three years. The airline also comes with the new value bundle services offering 50% off its new offers from Plus, Extra or Flex fares, based on customer’s preferences. The features include 20KG baggage allowance, in-flight hot meals, 2X flight changes, priority baggage, boarding & check-in, all seat selection, travel insurance and many more that bring value and convenience together. For more information on products and services, download Firefly’s mobile app or visit www.fireflyz.com.my.
