MACC nabs duo over alleged RM700k kickbacks for hiding factory's false raw palm oil sales tax declarations

Kota Kinabalu: A senior state public official and a government retiree were arrested for allegedly getting kickbacks worth RM700,000 from an oil palm factory for hiding their false monthly sales tax declarations to the Sabah Finance Ministry.
The plot cost the government millions of ringgit, said a statement from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission today.

Both were detained after coming to the Sabah MACC office at 11am today.
A remand request against the duo is expected to be made at the Kota Kinabalu Magistrate's Court tomorrow.
