Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s new Covid-19 cases rose to 42 on Wednesday, an increase of 15 from 27 the day earlier, while no new deaths or clusters were identified, said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.He said 10 districts recorded an increase, including Kota Kinabalu (+4), Tenom (+4), Penampang (+3), Lahad Datu (+3), Ranau (+2) and Papar (+1), while five districts recorded a decrease.
“Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 20 new cases, followed by Penampang (4), Tenom (4), Lahad Datu (3) and Papar (3). Seventeen districts did not record any new cases,” he said in a statement, Wednesday.
Masidi said 64.29 per cent of cases were sporadic while 16.67 per cent were close contacts.
He said 38 out of 42 cases were category one and two infections, while there were two cases each in category three and four.
On Sabah’s immunisation programme, 2,133 individuals took their vaccines on May 15, of which 432 were adults, 150 teenagers and 1,551 children.
