NABAWAN: Elisa Densy Markus was crowned Unduk Ngadau for Nabawan after beating 10 other participants in a competition held in conjunction with the district-level Kaamatan Festival celebration at the District Council Open Stage.
Elisa, took home a cash prize of RM2,000, trophy and other prizes, and will represent Nabawan in the State-level Unduk Ngadau competition which will be held at the end of this month.
Melvevia Keven took second place and brought home RM1,500 along with trophy and other prizes and will represent Pagalungan Sub-District at the State-level competition while Genevie Gabriel Gawis took third place and received RM800, trophy and other prizes.
State Minister of Youth and Sports, Datuk Ellron Alfred Angin officiated the Kaamatan Festival which was also attended by Sabah Land Development Board (SLDB) Chairman and Nabawan Assemblyman, Datuk Abdul Ghani Mohamed Yassin; Senator Datuk Bobbey Suan, Melalap Assemblyman, Datuk Peter Anthony; District Officer and Chairman of the District Level Kaamatan Festival, Peter Jonu Moinjil, Keningau District Officer, Walter Kinson and Tambunan District Officer, Sobitun Makanjil.
