Traditional sports held successfully
Mansur trying his hand on a traditional sport event.
PENAMPANG: The traditional sport event in conjunction with the State Kaamatan Festival celebration was held successfully albeit under a strict standard operating procedure (SOP).

Held at the Hongkod Koisaan KDCA, here, recently, the event was well-received by the public. This year, traditional sports like “migazat dukug” (tug-of-war) and “mipulos” (arm wrestling) were held physically and opened for participation.

However, events like “momolositik” (slingshot shooting), “monungkava kalabau” (lasso trapping a buffalo), “manandus” (spearing), “monopuk” (blowpiping), “tumutu” (rice pounding), and “mopiri” (fire starting) were held for demonstrations.

The programme was officiated by Youth and Sports Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Mansur Asun. Also present were Sabah Sports Board (LSS) Chairperson Osman Aganduk, and LSS General Manager Terrance Pudin, among others.
