Kota Kinabalu: Malaysia is aiming for 20 per cent terrestrial areas and inland waters and 10pc coastal and marine areas to be conserved through a representative system of protected areas and other effective area-based conservation measures by 2025.Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor said Malaysia’s target especially in regards to protected areas is clearly stated in National Policy on Biological Diversity 2016-2025.
Malaysia also adopted the United Nations’ Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in September 2016.
