Kota Kinabalu: Nature is set to be a new theme at this year's Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan which will introduce a new subsidiary title named "Miss Culture, Agrotourism and Nature".
The pageant's state-level chairperson Joanna Kitingan said the winner will be announced on May 29 during the Sodop Unduk Ngadau Charity Dinner.
Other subsidiary titles will also be presented at the event.
"The new subsidiary title is appropriate because we are opening back our tourism sector. We want to promote our culture to the world," Joanna was reported as saying.
"We are also strong in agrotourism which should be highlighted besides nature.
"Nature is our asset that must be conserved and we are indeed blessed to be surrounded by conserved forest under the Sabah Parks and Forestry department."
The other subsidiary titles are Tati Topiodo (Miss Natural Beauty), Tati Tosuau (Miss Friendly), and Basaan Tinandai Togingo (Best Dress).
