Kota Kinabalu: Eight items will be price-controlled under the Kaamatan Festival 2022 Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP) which runs from Friday to June 2.

Among the items placed under the scheme are chicken wings, dried chillies, imported buffalo meat (India), small red onions (India), garlic (China), live pigs where the maximum price is only at the farm level, pork belly, meat and pork fat.

According to Sabah Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) Director Georgie Abas, SHMMP Kaamatan Festival is KPDNHEP’s commitment to ensuring Malaysian families are always protected and not burdened with rising cost of living (COL), especially during the Kaamatan Festival which will be celebrated on May 30 and 31.
