Animal welfare: DBKK urged to talk to NGOs
Datuk Christina Liew (top), our report yesterday (bottom).
Kota Kinabalu: Api-Api Assemblywoman Datuk Christina Liew urged City Hall (DBKK) to make time for non-governmental organisations (NGOs) involved in animal welfare in an effort to resolve issues related to the rounding up of strays or owned dogs wearing collars, and placing them in the DBKK pound for 48 hours, pending action by the owners.

She made the call in the wake of media reports that the local authorities have refused to meet up with them (NGOs), and neither have they (authorities) answered the calls made by the NGOs or replied to their letters, amid allegations of dogs missing from the pound before or after 48 hours.
