Indian frigate calls at Sapanggar

Kota Kinabalu: Indian Navy ships have been calling at Sapanggar Naval Base of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) over the years to fly the flag in the South China Sea as part of their goodwill missions that were welcomed by the region.

The deployment of the Eastern Fleet to the South China Sea and Western Pacific is part of India’s participation in naval exercise aimed at supporting maritime security in the Indo-Pacific region as part of India’s ‘Act East’ policy, and also to contribute to peace and stability of the global commons.
