SANDAKAN: Former Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the Government could reduce the road tax for public cars in Sabah if it wants.During his time as Transport Minister, for example, the road tax for public commercial vehicles, particularly lorries, was reduced according to Sarawak rates, he said.
Loke, who is also DAP Secretary-General, said:
“In February 2019, during the Pakatan Harapan government, we were able to standardise the road tax rate for lorries in Sabah to match the Sarawak rate. This is due to the fact that Sarawak has a cheaper lorry road tax.
