Kota Kinabalu: Two men were charged separately with taking drugs repeatedly.
Hawi Enjah appeared before Sessions Court Judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim, to face the charge against him but no plea was taken from after the charge was read, Wednesday.
He is accused of taking drugs at 4.55pm on June 2 this year after his urine was tested positive for drugs at the city police station.
Hawi allegedly had two conviction records for taking drugs.
The offence under Section 39C (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 provides for a jail term of between five and seven years, and whipping, on conviction.
The court set June 23 for e-review to know the status of the pathology report as well as Hawi’s previous conviction records.
Hawi was ordered to be remanded further pending the date.
Meanwhile, Md Ridzuan Hamid appeared before Sessions Court Judge Elsie Primus, but no plea was recorded from him pending the pathology and Md Ridzuan’s case would be re-mentioned on July 14 this year.
No bail was offered to Md Ridzuan who was tested positive at the police station here, pending the mention date.
