Kota Kinabalu: After a continuous five-day climb, Sabah’s Covid-19 caseload dropped to 38 on Saturday from 87 the day earlier.
Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the decrease is due to a lower number of test samples, which was 1,924 on Saturday compared to 2,700 the day before.
“The number of samples also depend on the number of symptomatic individuals. There will be more samples when there are more people with symptoms.
“On Saturday, there were 26 symptomatic screenings compared to 55 the day before,” he said in a statement, Saturday.
No deaths or new clusters were identified.
Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 18 cases, followed by Penampang (6), Beaufort (4), Tuaran (4), Sandakan (3) and Kinabatangan (1).
“Overall, 19 districts recorded zero infections, compared to 15 the day before. Only eight districts recorded new infections,” he added.
Masidi said 36 out of 38 cases were category one and two infections, while one case was each recorded in category three and four.
On Sabah’s immunisation programme, 1,273 individuals took their vaccines on Jun 10, of which 872 were adults and 401 children.
