SIPITANG: Licensed gun holders have been reminded of their obligation to undergo a shooting test to renew the licence, said district police chief here DSP Champin bin Piuh.
He said all firearms must be renewed on June 30 each year and always contact the licensing unit of the district police station here if the licensee holders have any doubts regarding the licence.

“The weapons testing is held on Wednesday and ended on Friday at a target field of the district police station here that aims to test the level of efficiency and physical capability of the licensee in handling their respective firearms.
“Apart from that, it is also meant to test and inspect the firearm so that it works properly and if there is damage to the licensed firearm, the licensee would be asked to repair or replace the firearm with a new one,” he said.
Champin said the meeting with the licensee during the test will explain to them about compliance with the licence conditions and give a stern warning that the licensee should not sell ammunition to other individuals who do not have a firearm licence.
He said all tests went smoothly and all licensees rendered good cooperation with no untoward incidents occurred when the shooting test was implemented.
