Kota Kinabalu: An investor from Singapore is keen to build a five-star resort and theme park in Sabah, according to a report.
Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin reportedly said the area for the proposed project is under Sabah Parks, therefore, his ministry will first study the proposal.
“We need to look at this first, including looking at the best approach in bringing investment to the place as it is a protected park area,” he was quoted as saying today.
Jafry discussed the matter with GSH Corporation Executive Chairman Datuk Sam Goi during his recent visit to Singapore.
Jafry hoped such an attraction in Sabah would equal renowned Johor theme parks Desaru Coast and Legoland Malaysia.
