KOTA MARUDU: A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed while his 20-year-old pillion rider was injured when their motorcycle collided with a four-wheel-drive (4WD) at Kg Batu 4, Jalan Kota Marudu-Langkon.

Kota Marudu Police Chief Superintendent Zairolnizal Ishak said Muhamad Hilman Mohamed Taib died at the scene following the 5.20pm incident on Sunday.

“Based on initial investigation, the 4WD was travelling from Langkon towards Pekan Kota Marudu and on reaching Jalan Kampung Batu 4, the motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction lost control and skidded to the opposite lane.

“The 4WD driver failed to stop in time and collided with the motorcycle,” he said, adding the 4WD vehicle driver escaped injures.
