Kota Kinabalu: Large-scale chicken smuggling has been taking place due to lax security at the Veterinary Department, causing massive losses to the Sabah Government and affecting supply.The matter came to light following a visit by Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries I Sabah, Datuk James Ratib, to the department’s premises in Sepanggar, early Tuesday.
“The way they control chicken smuggling is very loose. I have taken several resolutions that are expected to curb the large-scale smuggling,” he said.
