KENINGAU: Good achievements in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination are welcomed, especially the Kadazan Dusun language which was the highest performing subject.

Assistant Minister of Works, Datuk Robert Tawik @ Nordin, said the formal teaching of ethnic language is able to attract the generation to learn their mother tongue.

“Recognising the importance of the mother tongue, we are taking the initiative to start research into the Gana language in order to make the language a subject at the public and private preschool levels,” Robert said.
