Backfire: After argument with wife, Tambunan man sets own house on fire, but burns himself in the process

Kota Kinabalu: A senior citizen's attempt at revenge against his wife after an argument backfired as he sustained burns to his body after setting their own home on fire in anger in Tambunan last night.

The 62-year-old man suffered 40-percent burns to his body but his wife was fine as she was away at the time of the incident, the Keningau police chief said, according to Deasoka.

"Investigation revealed the man, who owns the house, was in an argument with his wife and he set his own house on fire," DSP Nor Rafidah Kasim said.

In an update, the Fire and Rescue Department said the house in Kg Lotong was completely destroyed while an Isuzu D-Max was 30-percent damaged by the fire.
