Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor paid tribute to healthcare workers who worked tirelessly in the war against Covid-19 the last two years.“I wanted to hold this for a long time to pay tribute to doctors, specialists and nurses involved in this pandemic, including those who treated me and my wife in the hospital.
“However, due to constraints at that time, including the Movement Control Order (MCO), the ceremony could only be implemented now. I am thankful tonight my intentions were finally realised after over a year.
“I would like to thank all those involved in treating and dealing with the pandemic in% Sabah, especially the Covid-19 unit.
“In fact, there are many (healthcare workers) involved if you take into the account the whole of Sabah. But tonight, we did it for those in Kota Kinabalu. Thank you to all,” he said during the appreciation dinner at The Magellan Sutera, here, Saturday.
Also present were State Secretary Datuk Seri Safar Untong and Sabah Health Director Datuk Dr Rose Nani Mudin.
Meanwhile, Hajiji expressed gratitude that many high-impact programmes were successfully implemented after the launch of the Sabah Maju Jaya Roadmap development plan in March last year.
“Despite the pandemic, I still make sure that the Government’s policies can be carried out either physically or virtually. I actually rarely talk about politics in the newspapers because my focus is to develop and revive Sabah’s economy.
“I think we are now on the right track and efforts to revive the economy are in full swing. The people have also started carrying out activities as usual but I hope we all always maintain self-control,” he said.
