KOTA KINABALU: Uniting all local parties under the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) banner is possible but do not expect immediate results, said its Chairman, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor

Hajiji was responding to United Progressive Kinabalu Organization’s (Upko) Vice President Datuk Ewon Benedick, who in a recent statement discredited the effort saying it was “all talk”.
The Kadamaian assemblyman made a point that if GRS had really wanted to unite all Sabah parties, why leave Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM), Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) and the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) hanging.
“That is only his opinion. We do have a plan in GRS to unite the people for the greater benefit of Sabah,” he said after officiating the Sabah Cocoa Festival 2022, here, Sunday.
“Give us some space. You cannot expect these things to happen overnight. There are proper ways to bring them into the fold.”
But before that happens, he said, “careful and meticulous consideration shall come first.”
