Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Karate Association (SKA) will be sending 14 Sukma-bound athletes to take part in the Manuel Veguillas International Karate Championships to be held at Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia, Seaside Blvd, Pasay City, Philippines from June 25-26.

Its secretary general Julian Chin said they only target the contingent to return with medals of any colour.

“This is part of their training in preparation for the coming Sukma Games so we are not setting a gold medal target for them.

“This will also be their first overseas competition since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic and it is important that they can give their best and hopefully can return with medals,” he said on Sunday.
