Conservation education must not stop: Mayor

Kota Kinabalu: Educating the public, particularly folks in Kota Kinabalu, to understand the importance of marine conservation should be carried out continuously  to ensure that the message reaches the targeted audience.

Mayor Datuk Noorliza Awang Alip said programmes or events regarding marine conservation help share knowledge that could help the public understand its importance.

This includes such events to be carried out – not exclusive – or fixed at a certain period of time but continuously even outside to be shared to the public to educate them even further regarding marine life and the importance of conserving them.

“Today’s programme will not only raise awareness regarding the need to conserve the environment, especially marine life, but also further understand the biodiversity that we have.
