Orang Utan numbers down

Kota Kinabalu: Yayasan Sabah Group Conservation and Environmental Management Division Group Manager Dr Waidi Sinun was puzzled why there aren’t as many orangutans in TRCA (Taliwas River Conservation Area) as in other places.

“It raises some questions,” Waidi said.

Dr. Nobuyuki Yamaguchi, a wildlife biologist from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, did a wildlife survey along the main paths in the TRCA and found that there aren’t that many animals in the area.
