Kota Kinabalu: Warisan Kota Kinabalu, on Thursday, launched the “Spectacles for the Needy” programme under the #WarisanCares initiative to help underprivileged students and senior citizens residing in the City area.
Warisan Luyang Chief, Samuel Wong, said they are giving out 300 spectacles with prescription lenses under the programme, and a local optical centre has been appointed for collaboration to provide prescription services.
“Schools had fully reopened recently, and inflation is getting serious. Many underprivileged families are struggling during this period of time,” he said in a statement, Thursday.
“Education is still a priority in all families. We hope this initiate will lessen their burdens. Besides that, senior citizens are also welcomed to apply for the programme.”
Warisan Kota Kinabalu Youth Secretary James Yim said, they will work closely with Kota Kinabalu district branches to promote various services and assistance to assist the people in need in the City.
