KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded 113 additional Covid-19 cases, Sunday, according to the State's daily update.
"The main factor that caused a significant drop in the number of infections today (Sunday) is the number of test samples over the weekend which is usually lower than normal days," said the update.
"The total number of test samples today is 1,710 compared to 2,044 samples yesterday."
As such, a large daily case decrease does not necessarily mean that the situation has improved.
"The number of test samples, to some extent, determines the number of our daily cases.
"A lower number of test samples is likely to result in a lower number of positive cases on the assumption that the positivity rate remains the same as before."
Some 112 new cases were in Categories 1 and 2, while another case was in Category 4.
