PAPAR: The public should use social media as a platform to uphold the Malaysian Family concept. In making the call, Deputy Education Minister II Datuk Mohamad Alamin said there is a lot of information on social media but the community should be smart and responsible in discerning such information before sharing it. “We advise the community to be more responsible and always censor every news presented, especially on social media.

“People should also be wise in using social media, do not use it to sow hatred and spread slanderous information.

“But use social media as a platform to cultivate brotherhood and friendship,” he told reporters at the Pentarama Infiesta Showcase Programme at Bongawan Guest Site, here. On the programme, the Bongawan MP wanted programmes and activities that foster the Malaysian Family spirit to be increased.

“Since long ago, we know that the Information Department is the tongue of the Government that goes down to the village to channel information related to government policies and programmes to the people.

“Such a programme is important to foster unison in our daily lives with the concept of the Malaysian Family,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sabah Information Director, Nadzerah Abdullah said the programme received an overwhelming response and hoped that the community would continue to give support in three more showcase destinations.

“This programme, in the form of singing performances and informative entertainment is planned in such a way to convey a message about government policies to the community.

“This year, we are targeting five showcases where our next location is Tawau on July 3,” she said.

The Infiesta Pentarama Showcase programme featured performances from several singers including the finalists and Best Performance winner of Sabah Artist Song Chart (CLAS) 2020, Nurain Asyikin Ibrahim, Afiezal Fahmi Inggu and Dayang Nurazreen Salbador accompanied by solid music by Kidz Group.
