NGO: Why are Sabahans paying more for cooking oil?
Nagaraju (left) expects prices to worsen for Sabahans come July 1 with people’s purchasing power already slashed by half post-pandemic and even less now with small families barely scraping with RM50 per day.
Kota Kinabalu: At least one consumer group is puzzled why Sabahans should be paying more for palm oil-based cooking oil when the State is the nation’s top palm oil producer.

“We are producing our own end products. We produce more than enough palm oil for Sabah. So why must Sabahans also suffer?

“We need more refineries, be it local or from the peninsula, to produce more palm oil related end products.
