Kota Kinabalu: A 37-year-old man who was charged with causing hurt to a woman while robbing her last week, faced another charge of robbing a 24-hour convenient outlet of RM1,677.35.
M Sharif Shakhandar Benjamin pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court Judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim, Wednesday.
He allegedly robbed the Orange Convenient Store in Jalan Laiman Diki, Kg Air at 3.20am on May 18 this year.
The offence under Section 392 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 14 years, and whipping, on conviction.
The court set Nov 10 for pre-trial case management via Zoom and Nov 30 for hearing the case. M Sharif was ordered remanded further pending the date.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Dacia Jane Romanus appeared for the prosecution while M Sharif was not represented.
On last Thursday, M.Sharif had claimed trial to causing hurt to a woman with a screwdriver while robbing her.
