Penny Wong, Jeffrey mull establishing war museum

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah-born new Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong and Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan have discussed establishing an Anzac war museum.

The issue was discussed during her courtesy call on Jeffrey today, according to a statement.

Anzac Day is an Australian day of remembering those who died in conflicts including Australians who perished in the infamous Sandakan death march during the Japanese occupation.

Wong was also receptive to the idea of establishing a mechanism to resolve the issue of Sabahans overstaying in her country.
