More cooking oil refineries, repacking factories needed
“Even those from groups above B40, who are supposedly able to afford unsubsidised cooking oil are now competing for subsidy,” Norazlinah (left) said.
KUNAK: Kunak Assemblywoman Norazlinah Arif urged the government not to take the cooking oil shortage in the district lightly.

“Palm-based cooking oil is a basic necessity but is becoming increasingly harder to find. Even if we do, the price is absurd. Government subsidised cooking oil packets meanwhile are virtually non-existent.

“The lack of supply in subsidised cooking oil has an even greater impact on Sabah as it has been dubbed with the highest incidence of absolute poverty in Malaysia according to a Department of Statistics report for year 2020.
