Six Inanam schoolgirls arrested for allegedly beating schoolmate

Kota Kinabalu: Police have detained six SMK Inanam female students in relation to a gang beating on their schoolmate which went viral on social media yesterday.

City police chief ACP Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said investigations revealed the incident involving the individuals aged 13 to 17 years began with name calling.

“A 17-year-old girl who is a former student of the school has also been detained for investigations according to Section 147 of the Penal Code," Zaidi said in a statement.

“The Kota Kinabalu Police takes this matter very seriously and will not compromise with any form of bullying or violence especially involving students.
