The forecast is based on MET analysis using the Malaysia Weather Research and Forecasting Model (MET - WRF), the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecast (ECMWF) and the Global Forecast System (GFs).

This situation has the potential to bring strong westerly winds and can cause hurricane lines, resulting in heavy rains with thunderstorms and strong winds in northern Sarawak (Bintulu, Miri and Limbang), western Sabah and Labuan from July 9-10 and northern states in the peninsula from July 11-13.
