Kota Kinabalu: Kuamut Assemblyman Datuk Masiung Banah suggested that the Sabah and Sarawak governments, including Labuan, set up an Integrated Commission to control the leakage of subsidised cooking oil meant for the Borneo region.“The Government should not leave it to the market forces just like that. If uncontrolled, this will lead to the emergence of a cartel which will reap huge profits as middlemen,” he said.
He added that the question of leakage of subsidised cooking oil is not new and that the matter had become worse after the Government withdrew the subsidy for bottled cooking oil starting July 1.
