The Diaries of Neelakantan: War made some kind-hearted Japanese brutal
The instrument of surrender that was signed by Lt-Gen Masao Baba, Commander of the Japanese 37th Army (North Borneo, Brunei, Sarawak and Natuna Islands) on Sept 9, 1945.
1945

One morning after the bombing by Allies commenced I had to go to the hospital to get medicines for malaria I was suffering from. All of us used to fall prey to this disease frequently. I had to go along the railway line and while returning home the drone of a plane was heard.

I was watching the sky. It was coming in the direction of the hospital. I had to hide somewhere. It had already reached close by.
