Needs of Sabah people must come first: YB
Kota Kinabalu: Elopura Assemblyman Calvin Chong said the Government seemed to boast of budgets in the millions, yet the people of Sabah suffer.

“Looking at the Supplementary Bill, I see massive sums of money spent but look at the people on the ground, the prices of goods are expensive, even cooking oil is expensive,” he said when debating the First Supplementary Supply Bill (2022) tabled by Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

“Sabah is one of the nation’s top oil palm producers, but there is cooking oil shortage in Sandakan. How is this possible?” he asked.

“Sime Darby, Borneo Samudera, Borneo Softwood and Felda have some of the largest land banks in Sabah, yet what is the Government doing about the upstream and downstream activities for oil palm?”
