Kota Kinabalu: Former Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman called on all Sabahans to unite in urging the Government to reassert its sovereignty following the seizure of assets of two Petronas subsidiaries in Azerbaijan by the “heirs” of the Sulu sultanate.“This is a matter of national sovereignty and security, especially for the people of Sabah, because the backbone of the demand is Sabah,” he said, Thursday.
He said although the Cabinet had set up a task force to investigate the matter and Petronas had issued a statement explaining that its assets had been disposed of and repatriated, the people were entitled to know the whole story.
