PAS agrees to use new PN logo in GE15
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang says the party has agreed in principle to use Perikatan Nasional’s new logo in the upcoming general election.
PETALING JAYA: PAS has agreed to use the new Perikatan Nasional (PN) logo at the 15th general election (GE15), says its president Abdul Hadi Awang.

Hadi said the issue was still being discussed, but the party had agreed in principle to use the coalition’s new logo.

Speaking to reporters after his weekly sermon at Masjid Rusila in Marang, Terengganu, he also expressed hope that PAS would continue to be a part of PN and Muafakat Nasional (MN) heading into GE15.

“We are not moving away from the agenda of ummah unity, and cooperation under MN (with Umno) will continue,” a daily quoted him as saying.

On the distribution of seats for GE15, Hadi said nothing had been finalised yet.

“Although the date for GE15 has yet to be announced, discussions, including preparations for the elections, are underway,” he said.

On July 11, PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin said the coalition would be introducing a new logo for GE15 following a suggestion made by the PN supreme council.

Prior to that, Muhyiddin claimed that Hadi had agreed to use PN’s logo in GE15, saying the PAS leadership “can confirm this”.

PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man later played it down, saying the party had not made a decision on which logo its candidates would use.
